PORTLAND, Ore. (June 2, 2025) – Public ticket sales began today (June 2) at 10 a.m. PT for all multi-day tickets for two major August race events at Portland International Raceway (PIR) - the BITNILE.COM Grand Prix of Portland, featuring the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and Pacific Office Automation 147, headlined by the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Takuma Koga Making History In America, Will Race Xfinity Series At Dover And Portland

A native of Nagoya, Japan, 48-year-old Takuma Koga is now a veteran of NASCAR racing. Since 2001, when he made his debut in the NASCAR Raybestos Northwest Series, he has competed in various series. In 2002, he joined the NASCAR West Series (now the ARCA Menards West Series) and competed in 125 races until 2024, holding the all-time record for West Series races by a non-American driver. He earned 28 top-10 finishes and four top-5 finishes. The first was at the Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, CA, and all the others at the Portland, OR road track.

This year, he has moved to the ARCA Menards East Series and is gaining momentum with the Fast Track Racing team led by Andy Hillenburg. He recently achieved his best career result there, finishing third at Flat Rock Speedway in Flat Rock, MI. This oval, like the Orange Show, is a 0.250-mile bullring. “I love short tracks” Koga said. He performs well there and aims to finish in the top three in the championship. He is currently in fifth place. But this third-place finish is the best result ever achieved by a Japanese driver in a NASCAR series above the Super Late Model level.

Jack Perkins, 38, has over 150 starts in Australian Supercars, winning the 2015 Gold Coast 600 Race #2 as a co-driver to James Courtney. He is a veteran of 19 Bathurst 1000s, earning a podium result there in 2019. His father, Larry Perkins, is a six-time winner of the iconic event.

INDIANAPOLIS (Sunday, May 18, 2025) – The fairy tale became reality for Robert Shwartzman and PREMA Racing, as the rookie driver in his first-ever oval race and the first-year NTT INDYCAR SERIES team shocked the field to win the NTT P1 Award for the 109th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge.

Shwartzman, from Tel Aviv, Israel, became the first rookie driver to win the pole since Teo Fabi in 1983. He is just the third rookie to win the pole on track and will be the sixth first-year starter to lead the field to green in “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
